Feast on the Freshest Seafood in Tasmania

This feast will be prepared for you on-board, and washed down with a crisp glass of wine.

By Samantha Coles

There’s nothing quite like the taste of fresh seafood, especially when it’s caught and cooked right on the ocean. Venture to Tasmania’s port capital, Hobart, and board Cuttlefish to scour the seas yourself. You’ll be joined by an experienced crew with wealth of knowledge about the waters and the delicacies beneath the surface.

Take in the gorgeous scenery and look out for dolphins, whales and seals while the divers seek and harvest oysters, live periwinkles, sea urchins, Tasmanian abalone, rock lobster, Atlantic salmon and mussels. This feast will be prepared for you on-board, and washed down with a crisp glass of wine.

Back on terra firma, stay at The Islington Hotel. A former stately home, it has just 11 guest rooms spread out between the original 19th-century house and a modern, but appropriate, extension. The views are captivating.

Seafood tour $450 per person; Signature Room from $770 per night.
