Music

Known for its art, entertainment and music scene, there are many places to see a live show or concert.

By Emma Reynolds

New York City is known for its arts, entertainment and music scene, and while here, seeing live shows should be a priority. Seeing a show at Carnegie Hall should be the top of your list. The hall’s acoustics are absolutely incredible, and will make any performance memorable. Carnegie Hall showcases some of the world’s most extraordinary musicians and music, and also supports emerging artists. Come to see orchestras and bands perform classic and original songs, or listen to a wonderful piano solo from an accomplished musician. There is a never-ending calendar of amazing talent. Seeing a concert at Madison Square Garden is also an incredibly special event — the world’s most famous musicians play here on their tours and the large concert venue is mind-blowing. Whether it’s Ariana Grande or Elton John, plan your visit with one of your favorites. The energy is like nothing else. Of course, there are several live music venues from TriBeCa to the Upper East Side, and you can find many live music venues. Jazz lovers should check out Birdland in Hell’s Kitchen, or the Blue Note in Greenwich Village, one of the best jazz venues in the world.
