Cocktail of the Week: A perfect mix between a spicy margarita and a Pornstar Martini.

Maybe it’s the name, maybe it’s the demographic who most commonly order it, but the Pornstar Martini has something of a (completely undeserved, in my opinion) reputation.  No matter how much drinkers love that sweet passionfruit flavor, many people (let’s be honest, it’s the men) will refuse to order it.

Thankfully, for those who can’t muster up the courage to say “One Pornstar Martini, please bartender,” Cincoro Tequila is here with a solution: the Cincoro Passion, which is exactly what you might get if a spicy marg and a Pornstar Martini fell in love, got married and had a baby.

Instead of the Pornstar’s usual vodka, this cocktail calls for tequila and sweetness comes courtesy of agave over vanilla, but with a healthy dose of passionfruit syrup, the most important flavor stays intact.

Launched in 2019 by five athletes straight from the NBA Hall of Fame – Michael Jordan, Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wes Edens, Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeannie Buss, and Wyc Grousbeck and Emilia Fazzalari of the Boston Celtics – Cincoro Tequila is a luxury spirit designed for the connoisseur.

The brand offers five expressions – Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Gold and Añejo – with each sharing the same commitment to quality, taste and authenticity. Cincoro exclusively uses 100% Blue Weber agave from both the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco.

The Cincoro Passion uses Blanco tequila – a crystal clear and remarkably smooth spirit. The liquid has subtle notes of vanilla, making it a match made in heaven with passionfruit puree.

– 2oz Cincoro Blanco Tequila

– .75oz Passion Fruit Syrup

– 2-3 muddles jalapeno slices

– .5oz fresh lime juice

– .25oz Agave


Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake thoroughly. Dip one half of either a rocks or a coupe glass in lime juice (or agave for a sweeter finish), then tajin salt to create a rim. If using a rocks glass, fill with fresh ice before pouring in your shaken cocktail. Garnish with a dehydrated lime.
