The Restaurant
Kahala, a culinary jewel in Osaka, offers an intimate dining experience with only eight counter seats. Chef Yoshifumi Mori, a self-taught innovator, opened Kahala the year after the 1970 Osaka Expo and was among the first to champion ingredients now widely used. Mori's dedication to sourcing the finest produce from across Japan is evident in every dish. The restaurant itself is a warm space, lined with copper-colored wood and honey-hued tiles. Mori expresses his creativity through the kaiseki format, serving cuisine with a philosophical bent on lacquerware he crafts himself. Kahala currently holds two Michelin stars, a testament to its excellent cooking and Mori's personal attitude to life expressed through delicious flavors.
