Yusokuryori Mankamero, a Kyoto institution established in 1722, offers a glimpse into Japan's imperial culinary traditions. Located in the Nishijin district, this longstanding establishment is run by the tenth-generation proprietor and specializes in yusoku ryori, inspired by imperial court ceremonies, and kaiseki cuisine, rooted in tea ceremony principles. The owner-chef meticulously oversees every aspect, ensuring a dining experience that honors time-honored techniques. Mankamero is also known as the head of the "Ikama" style of knife technique of “Shikibocho”. The tasting menu showcases seasonal ingredients and Kyoto vegetables, emphasizing quality and presentation. This devotion to culinary heritage has earned Yusokuryori Mankamero two Michelin stars, a testament to its excellent cooking and preservation of imperial culinary arts.
