Los Angeles has many personalities — and the city offers as many of the best hotels to match. One day you could feel like a rock star and stay at a property off the Sunset Strip; another day you could escape to an oceanside room or a historic spot in the middle of the Golden Triangle.
While there are five-star offerings aplenty, we’ve narrowed down the best suites — some with butler service, some with a concierge, some with chauffeured cars, some with grand pianos and even some with voice-automated room controls so you literally don’t have to lift a finger: “Alexa, open the curtains.”
The West Hollywood EDITION
Penthouse Suite
The West Hollywood EDITION (pictured above) boasts a scenic rooftop pool, sexy lobby bar, serene spa, the Sunset underground nightclub (with more disco balls than you can count) and famed executive chef John Fraser. It’s no wonder that legendary Studio 54 club owner Ian Schrager is behind it all.
The hotel has two Penthouse suites of 2,036 sq ft each with custom furnishings and an airy loft vibe. The Penthouse suite has a wraparound terrace with extensive views of the city, and walnut wood paneling, porcelain floors, a workstation, private dining room, kitchenette and living room.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with custom-made Le Labo bath amenities in the signature EDITION scent, plus a standalone bathtub with sprawling views from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Ideal for entertaining, the minimalist suite offers recessed speakers throughout and dazzling night views of the cityscape. For larger families, the Penthouse suite can be expanded by joining it with a Deluxe Terrace King room.
