Multiple Number One Best Bar in North America winner Dante has branched out of New York City for the first time with the opening of Dante Beverly Hills at The Maybourne Beverly Hills Hotel.
Sitting at the very top of the iconic hotel on its recently renovated rooftop, the bar is set to transport a sense of that inimitable New York cool to Los Angeles. Like the New York original – which was taken over by husband-and-wife duo Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson in 2015 – Dante Beverly Hills will serve aperitivo-style cocktails alongside a menu of Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
“Los Angeles was our first taste of America, traveling here as kids from Australia,” says Pride. “We’ve always been inspired by California’s culture, lifestyle, and cuisine – the nuances of hyper-seasonal, local California produce.”

Guided by the bar’s longstanding endeavor to take simple ideas, and elevate them to new heights, Dante Beverly Hills’ cocktail list features beloved classics we all know and love – think negronis, spritzes and martinis – but served with exacting precision and attention to detail.

The drinks menu also features a few Beverly Hills exclusive, which celebrates local ingredients and independent brands, with a focus on California’s tequila-forward cocktail culture.
Similarly, the food menu highlights seasonal, local ingredients and is centered around open-fire cooking. Dishes include Californian salad with shrimp and avocado; fire-roasted chicken with roasted peppers, baby turnips and orange; and pizza rose with Stracciatella cheese, mortadella and pistachio.

The bar makes the most of LA’s brilliant climate with both indoor and outdoor dining space, with the design overseen by Hudson. Like the menu, the design echoes the signature Dante style but also seamlessly incorporates notes of the Californian landscape.
“There’s a magical, whimsical part to the Californian color palette, almost a patina, that evolves throughout the day,” says Hudson. “You are surrounded by these luscious, or golden-hued, pastels whilst on the rooftop. We wanted to pull those colors into the space and layered them with texture throughout.”
In the main dining space, a striking mural by local artist Abel Macias adorns the ceiling, while outside, guests can soak up views across the Hollywood Hills from the bar’s greenery-filled rooftop terrace.
