The Restaurant
Akasaka Kikunoi brings the spirit of Kyoto to Tokyo, offering an escape from the city's frenetic pace. Established in 1912 in Kyoto and now helmed by third-generation chef Yoshihiro Murata, this outpost faithfully recreates the traditions of Kyo-kaiseki cuisine. The restaurant is devoted to spreading the message of Japanese cuisine to the world. Here, diners can choose between tatami mat seating or the counter, where they can observe the chefs at work, a feature not available at the main Kyoto restaurant. Akasaka Kikunoi currently holds two Michelin stars, a testament to its excellent cooking and dedication to preserving authentic Japanese flavors. Ingredients, and even the water, are sourced from Kyoto to ensure consistency with the flagship restaurant.
