Zegna, the iconic luxury Italian menswear house, has opened a new flagship store in New York City’s Meatpacking District. Over the years, this corner of Manhattan has developed quite the reputation thanks to its eclectic mix of industry, art and design, a factor that no doubt played a role in the location of this new store.
The story of Zegna charts back more than a century to when the brand was founded in the Italian Alps in 1910 by Ermenegildo Zegna who wished to create world-class fabrics that were produced in harmony with nature and local communities. Since then the brand — still led by the Zegna family — has grown to become one of the most well-recognized Italian menswear companies, and was listed on the New York stock exchange in 2021, making it the first Italian fashion company to be listed in New York. Today, Zegna also owns both New York-based brand Thom Browne in addition to Tom Ford Fashion, cementing the Italian manufacturer as one of the most important in menswear, particularly in the US.
This New York store is set to represent Zegna’s refreshed identity, following the lead of artistic director Alessandro Sartori, who began his career at Zegna in 1989, followed by a stint at Berluti, before returning to Zegna in 2016. In his time at Zegna, Sartori has pushed the ideals of practicality, with garments reflecting the needs of the modern man as the brand focuses on new avenues like luxury leisurewear.

The shopping experience at this new flagship is set to mirror the ethos of Zegna’s Luxury Leisurewear collection, blending both practicality and versatility. Stretching over 1,600 sq ft, the store embodies the brand’s aesthetic, highlighting a high level of both luxury and craftsmanship, while the contemporary interior formulates a welcoming environment for customers.
Inside the store, visitors will find Zegna’s latest menswear collections, including Luxury Leisurewear staples like the Alba overshirt, a range of formalwear and the brand’s renowned Triple Stitch sneakers. At the new New York store, Zegna’s Made to Measure experience will also be available, for those looking to elevate their wardrobe with a selection of pieces that have been cut and manufactured to their dimensions.
By opening a new flagship store in New York City, Zegna is signaling its commitment to America as one of its most important markets. This new location at 66 Gansevoort Street, in New York’s Meatpacking District, marks a new step for the Italian menswear brand.
