Auberge Resorts Collection has teamed up with regional aviation carrier Surf Air to launch an all-new wine-focused Californian vacation package.
Virtually anyone, wine buff or not, would recognize Napa Valley as the US’s premier wine destination. Less, however, might know about Los Olivos – an up-and-coming wine region in Santa Ynez, some 340 miles south of Napa.
Combining these two regions in one neat, four-night itinerary, the new package begins at The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection – a recently re-opened retreat in the heart of Los Olivos, nestled among the vineyards. Laidback yet luxurious, the resort embodies the town’s carefree vibe with cozy interiors and cottage-style suites.

While at The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, guests can visit local wineries to discover the area’s signature grapes and winemaking culture – Los Olivos is particularly known for its high proportion of female winemakers. Back at the hotel, enjoy dinner at the signature restaurant, The Tavern, which has become a favorite for its tasty yet unfussy style.
After two nights in Los Olivos, Surf Air will transport guests direct to Napa via a chartered plane for two nights at Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection – a design-led resort made up of 78 standalone cottages and suites.

Surrounded by rolling hills blanketed in vines, Stanly Ranch is, naturally, all about the wine. During their stay, guests are privy to insider access to some of Napa’s most prestigious wineries, including The Donum Estate, which has partnered with Auberge to deliver exclusive tours and tastings of its collector-level labels.
Returning to base, guests can head to Stanly Ranch’s Halehouse wellness center for their choice of restorative spa treatment. The facility has brilliant views of the resort and beyond, with a menu of targeted treatments and state-of-the-art facilities. Suitably relaxed, it over to the resort’s signature restaurant, Bear, for a taste of executive chef Anthony Stagnaro’s ingredient-driven menu, which focuses on local Napa ingredients.
