Marriott International Inc. has signed agreements to open three new luxury resorts in Vietnam. The JW Marriott Trang An Resort & Spa, The Luxury Collection Resort Hon Thom Island and The Ritz Carlton Reserve, Hon Thom Island, are set to open in 2028 and 2029.
These properties will mark the debut of The Ritz-Carlton Reserve and The Luxury Collection in Vietnam.

JW Marriott Trang An Resort & Spa
Located in Southeast Asia’s first dual World Heritage Site, the JW Marriott Trang An Resort & Spa hopes to open its doors in 2028. Located in Northern Vietnam, just 50 miles east of Hanoi, the location is famed for its sugarloaf mountains, rice fields, caves, rivers, wetlands and historical temples and palaces.

Designed by BITEXCO Group, the luxury resort will include 150 rooms and suites alongside a collection of 35 one- and two-bedroom villas, with options for private pools.

For dining facilities, the resort plans to include two restaurants, a cafe, lobby lounge and two bars. In addition, the hotel will feature a large event space, comprising a 5,000-sq-ft ballroom and two meeting rooms.

For leisure and entertainment, the JW Marriott Trang An Resort & Spa will feature two pool zones, a fitness center, a kids’ club with an outdoor playground and a recreational activity center. The resort will also house the brand’s signature Spa by JW with six treatment rooms.

Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Hon Thom Island
The Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Hon Thom Island, is set to be designed by Bill Bensley and will offer guests a curated collation of 40 pool villas.
Owned by the Sun Group, the resort will be located on the southern tip of Hon Thom Island, offering stunning sea views out over Phu Quoc’s southern archipelago. The island is located within the turquoise sea off the south coast of Phu Quoc and is reachable by a cable car from the main island.
Predicted to open in 2028, the resort will house two pools, a spa, salon, fitness center, three restaurants and three bars. It will also offer the kids the opportunity to take part in Jean-Michael Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment educational program, which will be based in a specialized two-story activity center and garden.
A large event space at the resort will be designed to host the perfect beachfront weddings.

The Luxury Collection Resort, Hon Thom Island
Set to open in 2029, The Luxury Collection Resort, Hon Thom Island will be located on the northwest coast of the Hon Thom Island and is expected to feature 305 rooms, suites and family accommodations.
Also owned by the Sun Group, the resort will offer diverse dining options, with six restaurants and bars, as well as two pool areas, a kids club, activity center, fitness center and spa complete with seven treatment rooms, whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms.
