Project Secret Hits the Yacht Market with Edmiston

Project Secret has the added draw of already being in construction phase with delivery scheduled for 2025.

By Kim Ayling and James Roberts

Leading yacht brokerage firm Edmiston has announced a tempting new opportunity for those searching for a new superyacht. Project Secret, currently under construction at Tankoa Yachts in Genoa, promises to be the shipyard’s “marquee superyacht,” with many opportunities for personalization.

A star-studded cast of designers, including yacht design by Philippe Briand for Vitruvius and interiors by FM Architettura, ensures that every square inch of space on the custom-designed vessel is both elegant and efficient, with onboard capacity for 12 along with a crew of nine.

Fully tapping into the unique experience that is ocean travel, family-run consultancy Willem Van Cappellen was also brought on board to handle Project Secret’s acoustics and was tasked with accentuating the sound of the sea onboard.

Measuring in at 169 ft with a price tag of €38.5m (approx. $41.7m), the yacht has the added draw of already being in the construction phase with delivery scheduled for 2025. This presents a unique chance to take advantage of a significantly reduced lead time along with unusual scope for personalization.

“There are ample opportunities to bring a personal touch to the build in the latter phases,” said Briand. “The interior architecture has been planned around loose furniture, so the owner will have the opportunity to select their own furnishings.”

Project Secret’s original brief specified a want to create a ‘floating beach house.’ “To meet [this] brief, there were various considerations we took into account,” said Briand. “Firstly, we wanted to avoid a traditional salon layout, instead creating a space that would offer an elegant yet relaxed feel.

“We also considered how we could maximize the potential of the yacht’s indoor and outdoor environments, leaving no dead space. Finally, we wanted to capture the light that is found in a beach house, and ensure that the interiors benefit from more natural light than you would usually find on a superyacht of this size.”

Versatility was a focus throughout the design, with a foredeck that accommodates multiple occasions, as well as a sun pad with a whirlpool and outdoor entertaining area. Elsewhere, a gym and wellness area, complete with a sauna and seaside dipping pool, promote well-being at sea.

Accommodations are spread across six cabins, including a full-beam master suite with a push-button sea terrace. “For me, the owner’s stateroom is very interesting,” says Briand. “Located on the main deck, it offers impressive space both inside and out. Its own private terrace ensures incredible ocean views.

In line with Tankoa Yachts’ bid to promote a more sustainable approach to shipbuilding and yachting, the vessel has been fitted with a hybrid parallel propulsion system.

“This is an exceptional yacht that perfectly encapsulates the clear vision of its owner,” added Edmiston broker, Andrew Bond. “When Project Secret sets sail, [she] will easily earn [her] place as the marquee superyacht from this renowned Italian shipyard and clearly sets standards for energy and design efficiencies.”

“It is going to be an incredible platform when she is completed. Her new owners will be saving significant time and taking on a world-class designed yacht.”
