These days it feels like little more than a few weeks pass before yet another glamorous hotel pops up in Nashville. Music City is having something of a moment; each year millions of travelers descend on Tennessee’s vibrant capital to experience the colorful neon lights and raucous honky-tonks for themselves.

While the buzzy nightlife and legendary country music are no doubt among the city’s main draws, it’s essential to track down a comfy place to rest your head – even if only for a few hours. That’s why we’ve curated this exclusive list of the very best hotels in Nashville, from an eco-luxe haven to an Insta-worthy Victorian mansion.

Our list of the best hotels in Nashville begins with The Joseph – an art lover’s dream. The Pizzuti family opened the property in 2020, adorning the walls with over 1,000 pieces of contemporary art from their private collection. Situated in the heart of downtown’s trendy SoBro neighborhood, the elegant hotel is the perfect spot from which to explore the city.

The most exclusive abode at The Joseph is The Presidential Suite up on the 20th floor. Ideal for entertaining, the sprawling apartment features an expansive living and dining area boasting stunning views of the city, as well as an opulent floor-to-ceiling marble bathroom.

There’s also a tranquil saltwater pool, state-of-the-art fitness center and uber-cool rooftop bar to help you unwind. And when it comes to dining, you’ll be well fed at Yolan – the hotel’s authentic Italian restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Tony Mantuano.

Also nestled in Nashville’s bustling SoBro district is sustainable luxury lifestyle brand 1 Hotels’ newest outpost. The verdant ivy-covered façade (featuring over 56,000 plants for capturing carbon) sets the tone for your stay.

Stepping inside, those that have visited a 1 Hotels property before won’t be disappointed – you’ll find the familiar laid-back, breezy vibe, with plenty of natural materials used to craft the bespoke furnishings and, of course, lush green plants springing from every corner.

The hotel features 154 rooms and 61 suites, the most luxurious of which is the 2,000-sq-ft Terrace House Suite which boasts an enormous outdoor terrace complete with a day bed and meditation alcove. Super-soft organic cotton robes and natural Bamford toiletries are a thoughtful touch.

Downstairs on the ground floor at 1 Kitchen, talented chef Chris Cray has created an ever-changing seasonal menu bursting with fresh veg. Dishes are nourishing and healthy without sacrificing flavor, with ingredients carefully sourced from a trusted network of local farmers and producers.

Our roundup of the best hotels in Nashville would not be complete without mentioning The Hermitage. Built in 1910, the Beaux Arts property is the place to stay if you’re looking for somewhere lavish and traditional.

Situated in downtown Nashville, across the street from the Tennessee State Museum, The Hermitage is within walking distance of many of the city’s best museums and music venues. Entering the ornate marble lobby is like stepping back into another (seriously glamorous) time.

The rooms themselves are bright and airy, featuring four-poster beds, plush carpets and spacious marble bathrooms. It’s well worth sampling the dining venues during your stay. Celebrated chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten showcases the bounty of regional Tennessee produce at Drusie & Darr, while the Pink Hermit is an elegant café/ bar serving freshly baked pastries, light bites and artisanal wines.

Next, we head to Hutton Hotel in Nashville’s trendy West End. Steps from Music Row and around the corner from the Country Music Hall of Fame, it’s the ideal spot for sampling the best live music, restaurants and bars.

Once inside, it’s difficult to imagine you are anywhere but Nashville. The hotel is dotted with contemporary art and wall murals inspired by the city’s vibrant music industry. There’s even a Vinyl Lounge in the lobby with a turntable and curated record library.

The 3,387-sq-ft Hutton Suite is more akin to an apartment than a hotel room. Set over two levels with floor-to-ceiling windows bathing the space in natural light, the modern yet laid-back suite features a full kitchen, musician’s writing room and living room complete with an enormous marble fireplace.

Budding songwriters can also book one of the separate Writers Studios, conceptualized by legendary musicians Dierks Bentley and Ryan Tedder. Featuring the very best microphones, premium tube amps and Martin Guitars, the studios provide a sanctuary for escaping distractions.

Set within a historic Victorian mansion in East Nashville, the next hotel on our list is anything but ordinary. The property comprises just eight completely unique guest suites, adorned with eclectic furnishings, patterned wallpaper and woven rugs.

For something unforgettable, consider booking the Penthouse Suite which sleeps six. The Insta-worthy abode features exposed brick walls, shedloads of reclaimed wood, and a freestanding claw foot tub.

You’ll have the chance to sample plenty of quality Tennessee whiskey at the bar during your stay, and the hotel recently added a casual wine bar complete with a sprawling outdoor terrace for enjoying a tipple in the evening.

Four Seasons Nashville

It would be remiss of us not to include this next property because, well, it’s the Four Seasons Nashville. The iconic hotel welcomed its first guests in November 2022 and has quickly cemented its reputation as one of the most enviable addresses in the city.

Situated at the heart of the action in the city’s SoBro district, the 40-story glass tower will feature 193 rooms and 43 suites with sweeping vistas of downtown and the Cumberland River. The best place to soak up the views is the Presidential Suite. The light-filled apartment includes a spacious living area with a dining table for eight, private bar and even its own gym.

Four Seasons has curated a range of experiences for guests to fully immerse themselves in Nashville’s vibrant culture, including the chance to collaborate with a local musician to write and record your own song, creating an unforgettable souvenir to remember your trip.

Southall Farm & Inn

While the final entry on our list isn’t strictly in Nashville, it’s only a half-hour drive away so we decided to include it anyway. Perfect for those looking to relax and unwind away from the bright lights of the city, the property is set within an idyllic 325-acre working farm in historic Franklin.

Despite the sizeable grounds, the hotel is home to just 62 guest rooms and an exclusive collection of cottages nestled among the trees. The latter is ideal for secluded retreats; each property has a spacious wraparound deck offering total privacy and stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

When you’re not relaxing in the spa or enjoying a farm-to-table meal at the signature restaurant, there is plenty to do at Southall Farm & Inn. Activities are varied and wide-ranging covering everything from guided apiary tours and falconry experiences to honey tastings and cooking classes.
