Finding the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for him is no easy task; wading through the tacky heart-themed trinkets and soon-to-be-binned rubbish is not for the faint hearted. What gift perfectly conveys your feelings without veering into OTT gimmick territory? And what do you get for the man who has everything?
The good news is, we’ve taken the guesswork out of Valentine’s Day 2024 and scoured our favorite brands and labels to shortlist the best gifts for the man in your life, without an ounce of cheesiness (no stuffed toys in sight). From ultra-luxe tequilas to little luxuries that he didn’t know he needed, our gift guide is all but guaranteed to please.
Clase Azul, Tequila Ultra
Clase Azul stands proud as one of the very best bottles on any spirits shelf, but even among true tequila aficionados, Clase Azul Tequila Ultra is a cut above. Among the Mexican brand’s most exclusive releases, the extra añejo tequila is aged for five years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks for a rich, oaky finish. This is Clase Azul, so you can expect show-stopping design; the decanter takes the brand’s usual dome-topped shape, but instead of the signature blue and white, is in a sultry midnight black finished with platinum, silver and 24-karat gold.
Bang & Olufsen, Beosound A5 Spaced Aluminum
For premium at-home sound systems, Bang & Olufsen remains a go-to. Last year, the Danish brand released a new and improved version of its portable Beosound A5 speaker, this time in slick aluminum. Like its predecessors, the new speaker is designed to be carried from room to room, has more than 12 hours battery life, an integrated wireless phone charger, and a user-friendly interface. While the bulk of the new speaker is in the updated aesthetic, a few software updates will excite too, not least the new automatic stereo pairing which not only enables two Beosound A5s to automatically pair when in range, but also allows individual speakers to integrate into a home set-up.
Omega, Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon
Omega’s first watch release of 2024 was a fresh take on its now-iconic Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon. As you’d expect, there are plenty of flash new details: a laser-ablated moon relief on the blackened main plate and bridges; a dual view of the moon (as seen from Earth) and Earth as seen from space; and the small seconds hand which has been fashioned to reference NASA’s Saturn V rocket.
Tom Ford, Oud Minérale
If there is a brand that knows how to do a fragrance, its Tom Ford. Head-turning, long-lasting, completely unique – its enticing scents are regularly among the beauty sets top perfumes. Among Tom Ford’s line up is the enticing Oud Minérale – a warm, sultry scent with distinctly earthy notes. Recently relaunched in a new bronze-toned rounded bottle (unlike the signature square shape), the fragrance is billed as unisex but, for me, its fresh mineral notes which lay atop a bed of rich oud put it more distinctly in the For Him category.
Loewe, Patch cap
Loewe might turn heads at its runway shows (cartoon-style pixelated sweater, anyone?) but the Spanish fashion house executes the basics brilliantly, too. From the SS24 collection, the canvas patch cap is chic yet subtle, with a monochromatic rubber logo tab, engraved metal slider and a herringbone cotton lining. There are seven colors to choose from, but the Deep Navy is our pick.
Tumi, Golf collection
Luxury luggage brand Tumi has branched out from its celebrated range of stylish (and durable) hold alls and carry on cases into the world of golf. The first-ever Tumi golf collection features a number of pieces that both support the game and the golf lifestyle – from club covers to gold stand bags – with the brand’s signature level of style and practicality. The brand was also just named the official luggage partner of the PGA Tour, cementing its status as the makers of the newest must-have golf gear.

Le Labo, Basil shampoo
Sick of him stealing your expensive shampoo? Buy him his own. Le Labo is revered in the trendiest of circles for its head-turning and impossibly long-wearing unisex fragrances – and its haircare range does not let the side down. Its nourishing shampoo is fully plant-based and paraben-free, and uses macadamia to repair, rosemary to stimulate and rice extract to strengthen. The herby, aromatic basil scent is guaranteed to be a hit too, as is the typically chic Le Labo packaging.

La Mer, Broad spectrum SPF50
We all know that a high SPF sunscreen should be a cornerstone in any decent skincare routine but, making someone without a regime apply it on the regular is easier said than done. The solution? Splash out on one he can’t resist slathering all over his face. La Mer’s broad spectrum protecting fluid is about as luxurious as sunscreens come, with a lightweight, fast-absorbing formula infused with the French brand’s signature sea kelp-enriched Miracle Broth. With a high SPF of 50, the sunscreen robustly defends skin from harmful damage-causing UV rays.
Brora Distillery, Eras of Brora tasting
When it comes to Valentine’s Day gifts for him, you can’t go wrong with a shared experience. This year, treat him to a visit to the northern reaches of Scotland to visit the by-appointment-only Brora Distillery. Book onto the Eras of Brora tour – a five-hour immersion into the whisky brand’s past, present and future, all wrapped up nicely with a three-course lunch and tastings of some of the distillery’s finest expressions. While Scotland in February might not pique everyone’s interest, whisky buffs will agree that the best time to visit a distillery is when no one else is there.
Mr P., White t-shirt
The pursuit for the perfect white t-shirt is one that many will attempt but few succeed in. Throwing its hat into the ring is Mr P. (Mr Porter’s own label brand), whose signature white tee is crafted from 100% super-soft cotton and has a very slightly oversized boxy fit for ultimate versatility. As with all Mr P. products, purchase comes with access to a host of extra digital content and styling advice. Nifty. A simple, but no doubt very well-received Valentine’s Day gift for him.
Louis Vuitton, LV Super Vision Sunglasses
Pharrell Williams’ debut collection for Louis Vuitton hit the runway this month, and with it arrived the new LV Super Vision Sunglasses. Inspired by the forms and shapes in the photography industry, the new eyewear comes in four distinct shapes and in five colors – black, khaki, red, yellow or blue – with the rubber-effect nylon designed to mimic traditional camera features. Each pair is inscribed with white text around the lens and has a silver Louis Vuitton logo at the temple.

Derek Rose, Silk Pajamas
Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to gift little luxuries that someone might not buy themselves – and what could be more luxurious than silk pajamas? Our favorite set comes from Derek Rose, a London-based, family-owned menswear specialist. Handmade using pure silk with a satin finish, the Bailey pajama set is comfortable, breathable and stylish, with a chic contrasting piped trim. There are plenty of colors to choose from, but a sleek navy blue is timeless.
Begg x Co, Cashmere Beanie Hat
A cool chill is still in the air come February, making a warm hat a thoughtful – not to mention practical – Valentine’s Day gift for him. Practicality need not be the downfall of style, however, with Begg x Co’s cashmere beanie deftly combining the two. Made using 100% cashmere, each beanie is crafted in Begg x Co’s Scottish factory and features a versatile ribbed finish with the option to wear it folder over or unrolled.
Bruno Cucinelli, Backgammon Set
Handmade in the brand’s Italian workshop, the Bruno Cucinelli Backgammon Set is more work of art than boardgame. Presented in an elegant leather-handled case, the set is crafted out of a stone-like material called Krion with local walnut and stainless-steel accents. Whether pulled out at your next dinner party or simply used as a conversation-starting piece of décor, the Bruno Cucinelli Backgammon Set will make for a memorable Valentine’s Day gift.
Barbara Sturm, Men’s Essential Set
Don’t let men be fooled into thinking that just pinching a blob of your moisturizer or a drop of your cleanser is enough to keep their skin in tip-top condition. In fact, men’s skin requires more attention than you’d think, given the regular shaving it endures. For the man in your life who is new to caring for their skin (or just wants a no-nonsense routine, look no further than the Barbara Sturm Esssentials set, which includes a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum and a nourishing face cream.
Balblair, 25-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Balblair 25 Year Old Single Malt is a great choice for the discerning whisky lover in your life. The oldest in the 230-year-old Highland distillery’s main repertoire, this is a whisky to drink and enjoy. Spending over a quarter of a century in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish Oak butts, the dark copper-hued liquid is full-bodied and indulgent, with aromas of luscious apricots and licorice and notes of chocolate praline and spices.

The classically stylish M11 combines the experience of traditional rangefinder photography with contemporary camera technology, extended battery life and a unique triple resolution sensor that can record at 60, 36 or 18 megapixels (to give you an idea, the latest iPhone 13 Plus is capable of 12 megapixels).
