The world is filled with great hotel room views and panoramas, factors that could make or break a holiday room experience. Imagine waking up and seeing the Eiffel Tower outside your window, or the Taj Mahal in India.

Elite Traveler has found the perfect bucket-list spots to enjoy a luxurious hotel experience while admiring some of the best views in the world, from cityscapes to remote mountain landscapes.

Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra, India

To be this close to the Taj Mahal would be a dream come true for many. This Unesco World Heritage site has captivated people for centuries; its magical pull pervades the atmosphere of Oberoi Amarvilas, certainly one of India’s best hotels.

In the Kohinoor Suite, the Taj Mahal can be seen through the view from the hotel room, even from bed, as well as from its three private terraces. The study even has a telescope so you can admire the details of the incredible Mughal monument and gardens. For the ultimate romantic evening, enjoy an alfresco dinner on your terrace with views of this enduring symbol of love in the distance.

Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, France

With picture-perfect views of the Eiffel Tower from its private balcony, The Penthouse at Four Seasons Hotel George V offers the best private view in Paris. The one-bedroom suite is beautifully decorated in shades of silver, gold and cream, making a glamorous yet understated statement.

The all-marble bathroom is particularly over the top, with an oversized, one-ton marble tub with a chromatherapy system.

The Corinthia, London, England

Near London’s Westminster neighborhood, the Corinthia is lavish with its glass-domed lobby, grand floral displays and glittering chandeliers. The two-story Royal Penthouse Suite has views from its 680-sq-ft terrace of landmarks of the London skyline: the London Eye, Big Ben, Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s and the Thames.

Inside, the two floors connect via a private elevator and a swirling staircase. On the lower floor, there’s a large living room, dining room for 10, office and butler’s kitchen. The upper floor of the Corinthia has a huge master bedroom with walk-in closet and master bath with spa suite, a TV lounge, 75-sq-ft balcony, terrace and a second bedroom with walk-in closet.

You have your own spa, but do visit the ESPA Spa. It’s the best in the city: four subterranean floors of slick black marble, dancing fireplaces and an excellent treatment menu.

Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney, Australia

The Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney could not be better located, not just to enjoy stunning views of the Iconic Sydney Harbour and the Opera House but also culturally. The hotel is located right next to The Rocks and Circular Quay, allowing guests to enjoy a vibrant social scene and fantastic shopping within walking distance of its room.

The Two-bedroom President Suite offers an amplified version of this experience. The oversized suite offers views of Sydney Harbour from every room. Soak in views of the sunset from floor-to-ceiling windows as you dine in an elegant private dining room.

Jade Mountain, St. Lucia

Where most Caribbean suites are perfectly content with a view over the beach, the Galaxy Suites at Jade Mountain in St Lucia aspire to something far more dramatic – a 120-degree view that starts from the Caribbean Sea on one side and carries on sweeping up to the vast twin peaks of the Piton Mountains on the other.

Better still, this can all be viewed from your bed because these suites have no fourth wall (although jalousie screens can be pulled into position over the opening if desired).

Explora Patagonia Hotel Salto Chico, Chile

A captivating landscape of glaciers, lakes and mountains is the setting for this unique hotel in the middle of Torres del Paine National Park (a Unesco biosphere reserve) in Chile. Choose one of the hotel’s six Exploradores Suites and wake up to views of the sapphire waters of Lake Pehoé and the stunning Paine Massif. The suites feature calming interiors within its striking architectural envelope, plus hydromassage baths to unwind after a day exploring.

The activities offered include daily guided treks and boat trips to the Grey glacier. Or head to 2 de Enero ranch, the resort’s 14,830-acre equine facility, to explore on horseback — you’ll easily spot the Salto Chico waterfall the hotel is named after.

The Samling Hotel, the Lake District, England

Luxury boutique hotel The Samling combines the two while also offering a prime location to explore the region’s most famous “fells”. Positioned on a hillside above Lake Windermere on 67 acres of private land, the hotel offers expansive views across the Unesco World Heritage Site from most of its suites and rooms.

Hike to the top of the hotel’s private land for the views over Lake Windermere (the UK’s biggest) or head out to explore the surrounding trails.

Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria, Rome, Italy

The Planetarium Suite at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria boasts a breathtaking view of the Eternal City that leaves no medieval dome out, including the striking St. Peter’s Basilica. Enjoy the twinkling lights of Rome from a private roof garden where a jacuzzi awaits. Located on the foot of Monte Mario, these hotel room views are truly staggering.

Enjoy even greater views at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant La Pergola, widely regarded as one of the finest in the city. This three-Michelin-starred eatery is the work of culinary genius Heinz Beck, who elevates classic Italian dishes to new heights.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa, Cape Town, South Africa

One of South Africa‘s finest hotels, The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa sits on the outskirts of Cape Town and boasts extraordinary views of the Atlantic Ocean. Book the Presidential Suite to ensure you have these views all to yourself.

Dine on the suite’s wraparound terrace and enjoy panoramic vistas of Succumb to panoramic views of the world-famous Lion’s Head and the Twelve Apostles mountain range. Head inside to marvel at one of the finest collections of South African art from the comfort of your suite.

Four Seasons, San Francisco, USA

Soon to be located on the upper 11 floors of one of San Francisco’s tallest buildings, Four Seasons San Francisco at Embarcadero will provide guests with stunning panoramas over the city when it opens in late 2020.

It’s no surprise to find that the finest vista in the hotel will be reserved for its top suite. The private outdoor terrace will span the entire length of the suite and offers incredible views – from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Bay Bridge and everything in between. Formerly a Mandarin Oriental, the hotel will open with a fresh Four Seasons feel.
